"When Preston Mutanga found out the producers from
Spider-Man: Across the
Spider-Verse wanted to talk to him, he thought it was a scam.
Once he figured out it wasn’t, he said he was “mind-blown.”
It turns out the producers had seen a version of the movie’s trailer that
Preston had created using Lego and they wanted to work with him.
At only 14, Preston was hired to animate a scene in the movie, which is now up
for an Academy Award (Oscar).
Preston said the process has been surreal, but is just the beginning of what he
hopes to do as an animator."
