For instance, this video from the American Museum of Natural History
details two recent instances where scientists have observed a whale and
several dolphins interacting in ways that are something we might
classify as "play".

In Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, an alien species threatens to
destroy the Earth after humpback whale songs go quiet. But
planet-destroying extraterrestrials might not be the only intelligent
non-human species listening to whales.

Bottlenose dolphins at the Planète Sauvage aquarium in
Port-Saint-Père, France, sound like they are mimicking recorded
humpback whale songs, reported Science.
