I haven't seen this before. It's cute, especially with the sound on. As a
completely random aside, look out for the bunny girl in the background near
the end...

Speaking of chameleons, do you know that you're only seeing a part of the
chameleon's trick? I couldn't find a video of this, but because chameleons
can see in UV (and their predators, birds, see in UV too), they sometimes
switch on colours and stripes and patterns that we can't see...

Spiders also see in UV and some species use this for signalling during
courtship. Check out the video on this page and the image of
the fluorescing palps on the wolf-spider male. I've seen a really amazing
video of the courtship display during a scientific talk but it doesn't
appear to have been uploaded online. Pity. Anyway, this video gives a pretty
good idea.

And finally, it's been known for a long time that apparently dull brown
scorpions are actually bright UV-coloured. You can even identify scorpion
remains in fecal matter by shining a UV light on the droppings. A couple
bright-UV coloured scorpions:

I presume scorpions fluoresce so brightly because they are nocturnal and the
amount of UV light they normally get from the moon is pretty dim, but I'm
not really sure.

Hey Chris!
You can send us awesome animal stuff any time. I probably should have been a
zoologist.

Kawaii! I agree with the YouTube commenter who said he didn't think all the
judges got how the skin changing was done.

Amazing UV stuff. Wouldn't it be fun to have blacklight Christmas lights with
fluorescent ornaments?
Peace,
Katherine
