Colour overwhelms you and you stand in the doorway for a while just gazing around. On your left, white flowers, pink flowers, blue flowers; on you right, red flowers, orange flowers, mixed bouquets. The sweet smell strong enough to drown out the cars from outside. Waterlilies float in a ceramic bowl and birds of paradise lean down from their height. Tiny bunches of violets and miniature lilies. Huge swathes of fern leaves and gerberas with wide open faces. People walk in and out, buying armfuls of colour wrapped in brown paper and raffia. You could spend a fortune in here. |
