The smell of incense hits you in the back of your nose, working its way down to settle raspingly in your throat. You know you won't be buying that one for home. Candlesticks surround you in the clutter of vases and bells and glassware and candles. Coloured and scented, all shapes and sizes. You pick a few up and smell them, hoping their fragrance is better when lit. Bottles of oil with beautiful scents; too expensive to buy. Books about dreams and symbols and belief systems and healing. Spell books and chakra cleansing, crystals and guides to the soul. Meditations for people who do too much, stress relief for cats and dogs. The incense in your throat starts burning and you head for the door. |
