"Stakeholders across Australia’s electric vehicle (EV) industry, led by the
National Automotive Leasing and Salary Packaging Association’s (NALSPA), are
calling on the federal government to keep the Electric Car Discount in a new
nationwide advertising campaign.

The new “Keep the EV Tax Discount” campaign was launched by NALSPA, Australia’s
peak body for novated leasing, and a range of organisations and companies
across the country’s EV industry.

Targeted at the federal government and its review of the Electric Car Discount,
which was announced back in December, the campaign grills the Labor party’s
claims that it wants more Australians driving EVs and that it cares about
cost-of-living pressures on suburban families by asking why the government
would consider scrapping a policy that “actually delivers both”.

The advertising campaign is backed by organisations including Autoleague,
Automotive Leasing, EV Dealer Group, Electric Vehicle Council, First Nations
Finance, Pepper Money, Rewiring Australia, and Unisson Disability, and electric
carmakers including BYD, GWM, Polestar, and Tesla.

“The federal Government is reviewing the EV Discount, and working Australians
deserve to know what’s at stake,” said Rohan Martin, NALSPA chief executive.

“We also want to remind the federal government how effective this policy is in
driving EV uptake and reducing costs for everyday working Australians.”"
