'A lead adviser to German Chancellor Angela Merkel on climate policy has
attacked Australia's complacency on global warming and described the
Abbott government's championing of the coal industry as an economic
"suicide strategy".'
The Abbott government is damaging not only Australia's international
reputation but also our environmental and economic future. We had an
opportunity to invest our resource extraction profits to support a
transition to the next phase of our economy, and that window is starting
to close.
