This article is hopeless. It's venting about how stupid some people are
to the converted. Nothing in this is genuinely reassuring to those who
are anti-vax. I mean, look at this quote:
"For example, this study tested the safety and effectiveness of the
pneumococcal vaccine in more than 37,868 children."
This looks like Big Pharma endangering the lives of children to make
their point. I recently had myself vaccinated before visiting my newborn
nephew. The above quote makes me feel very uneasy.
We need people to stop playing stupid intellectual one-upsmanship games
and start asking, what would seem to be a logical question, "why"...Why
are people acting this way? Why are they scared of the vaccinations and
why don't they trust science? If your answer is, "Because they are
stupid", then you are part of the problem and are helping to make things
worse.
I suspect this is a class issue, and lower and artistic classes do not
trust those from the upper classes to have their best interests in mind.

Katherine

"In light of recent outbreaks of measles and other vaccine preventable
illnesses, and the refusal of anti-vaccination advocates to acknowledge
the problem, I thought it was past time for this post."
Good article on an important topic, and the comments seem to be quite
respectful even of the conspiracy theorists and parents looking for
someone to blame for medical problems in their children.
