"Young people are the conservative company's new enemy-du-jour."
This is actually a very old trope that conservatives have notoriously
pandered to forever. There have been regular manufactured moral panics
that always asked their followers to "think of the children", who would
surely be corrupted by the bogeyman-du-jour. They're even recycling
some of the old, stale bogeymen like "popular music", "feminism" and
"the gays".
