I don't know that I buy this is an out of control rocket. Oh and it must be
so "because the Russians deny it", is just bogus. The CIA, Mossad, and MI5
probably all deny it too.

That far north and you get a lot of weird atmospheric light effects. People
still don't fully understand how ball lightning happens. This looks a little
in that category.

The fact that there was actually a Russian rocket launch failure that day,
combined with the video showing a computer simulation of an out of control
rocket which is a nearly exact match for the observed phenomenon are a bit more
convincing though.

Okay, I read some mention that the Russians later have claimed that, but I
haven't seen any reputable articles to confirm it. They may be there, I just
haven't seen them.

are a bit more convincing though.

The computer simulation was put up AFTER the effect was posted. And you can
make computer simulations "nearly exact match" all sorts of things. It may be
true, but it may be someone inventing a simulation to support their favourite
hypothesis.
