CD-ROM Drive

My CD-ROM drive came pre-built into my computer and is a Matsushita 24X IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics, the hardware that connects the drive to the rest of the computer). The main reason for wanting 24X (24X the basic rate of 150KB) or 32X (the highest speed drive at the time of writing) is for video playback, since video has a lot of pixels being shuffled around. My CD-ROM has primarily been used to load software onto my hard drive, but also to play computer games, review interactive stories, view enhanced CDs, play sounds and music for capture for use in my project, and to play background music while I am working.
